MFA Coming Soon

TruNorth Federal Credit Union will soon be enabling MFA to online and mobile banking as an added layer of security for members. To prevent login delays, members need to ensure all personal information is up to date.

Below are some frequently asked questions regarding MFA and how members can prepare for the upcoming changes.

MFA or Multi-factor authentication is a security method that requires users to provide more than one form of authentication to access an account.

MFA is used to add an extra layer of security to online accounts such as bank accounts, credit card accounts, insurance, and utilities. MFA makes it harder for hackers to access information if the account has been compromised.

TruNorth is enabling MFA to online and mobile banking to add an extra layer of security for members. This process will make it harder for hackers to access sensitive information like balances, account numbers, loan information, or transactions, if your account is compromised.

TruNorth is expected to enable MFA for online and mobile banking mid-December 2024.

Members can prepare by ensuring all personal information listed on accounts is up to date. MFA will use information like phone numbers, email addresses, or mailing addresses to verify the user. It is also crucial that all information is listed on accounts with multiple users logging into the same account, such as a joint checking account.

Members can update personal information directly within online or mobile banking. Members can also update personal information by visiting either branch location or calling the credit union at (906) 485-1210 or toll-free at (877) 694-2328.
